Passing The CISSP Exam The Easy Way

 

One of the elite certified information systems security professional and most sort after an exam in the security industry is the CISSP. The truth is that the exam is hard, resource intensive, and terrifying, but at the same time, it is very easy to pass it.

Here are some of the tips that can make you pass it:

  • Ensure you know what CISSP means and at the same time, ensure that you meet all the pre-requirements for the exam.

CISSP stands for certified information systems security professional and security professional and it is important to note that, its certification was started in 1991 by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium. The certification is a way for you to demonstrate the knowledge you possess and prove that you can lead and establish a program in information security.

There are eight domains which are covered in the CISSP exams from the (ISC)2 common body of knowledge (CBK) which include:

    • Asset security
    • Security management and risk management
    • Security engineering
    • Access and identity management
    • Security and assessment testing
    • Software development
    • Security operations
    • Communications and network security

In order for you to qualify to undertake the test, there are certain prerequisites which you will need to meet. The first one is that you will need to have finished at least five years working full time in at least two of the above domains. Or else, you can still qualify with experience of four years if you have an approved credential or certification or, a four-year college degree.  

The second thing you need to have is to ensure that you agree to the (ISC)2 Ethics Code and on your application, ensure that you explain things like any identification with hackers and felony convictions.

Finally, you will have to pass the exam which takes 6 hours, has 250 questions consisting of questions from all the above eight domains. For you to be considered to have passed, you will have to get a minimum score of 70%.

You shouldn’t just be overconfident about the knowledge you have concerning the CISSP domains and security. Though you might think that you are very knowledgeable, you need to understand the type of questions that you are going to encounter. Practicing is the best way forward.
